Job summary

ESP Associates, Inc. is seeking a Materials Testing Senior Engineering Technician to perform field testing of construction related materials including soils, concrete, grout/masonry, and asphalt, based in Concord, NC.

This full-time role requires following ASTM/ACI/AASHTO standards and documenting test observations with ESP data collection software. You will review drawings, communicate findings to project staff, and ensure compliance with client specifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or Associate degree required.
• Three or more years of field testing experience in soils, concrete, masonry and/or asphalt.
• ACI Field Grade I Certification preferred.
• Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Certification preferred.
• NICET, DOT certifications beneficial.
• Pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record per policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced field tests according to ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, DOT or other standards.
• Document observations of construction and report results.
• Review project drawings and specifications.
• Communicate effectively with ESP project staff and construction team.

• Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
