Job summary

ESP Associates, Inc. is seeking a Materials Testing Engineering Technician (CMT) to perform field testing of construction materials including soils, concrete, grout/masonry, and asphalt in Charleston, SC.

The role supports project staff and construction teams, and requires safety and accuracy in field work. You will review drawings, operate field testing equipment, document results, and report through ESP’s data system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
• Candidate must pass drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record per MVR policy.

ESP Associates, Inc. is seeking a Materials Testing Engineering Technician (CMT) to perform field testing of construction related materials including but not limited to soils, concrete, grout/masonry, and asphalt.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine field tests in accordance with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, DOT or other standards
• Review and understand project related drawings and specifications
• Communicate effectively with ESP project staff and project construction team
• Report test results through ESP’s field data collection software

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:

• One or more years of experience in construction testing of soil, concrete, masonry and/or asphalt materials
• ACI Field Grade I Certification
