  • Evidence of satisfactory completion of these courses and a C average in major courses required.
  • Valid Driver's License with safe driving history per National Grid policy.
  • Pass Field Assessment.

  • Prepare and interpret statistical and graphical exhibits and other related material as required.

  • Review computer-generated output for required information and recommend revisions.
  • Prepare and maintain records such as schedules, projects, drawing-status lists, data-on-equipment, etc.
  • May utilize other personal-computer programs.

Job Purpose
  • Research and compile information from various sources, make calculations and use in the preparation of all types of technical studies, research projects, reports, etc.
  • Responsible for the preparation and interpretation of statistical and graphical exhibits and other related material as required.
  • Responsible for the activities related to computer input material and processing.
  • Review computer-generated output for required Information and recommend revisions as required.
  • Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of all records such as schedules, projects, drawing-status list, data-on-equipment, etc.
  • May be required to utilize other personal-computer programs.
Qualifications
  • Although both classifications (Engineering Technical Assistant Grade-6 and Grade-7) require two years of college, it is agreed that consideration will be given to applicants for the Grade-6 position who have completed one (1) year of college and are presently attending school.
  • To be promoted to the Grade-7 position, the incumbent must, as a minimum, have completed the two (2) years of schooling, as specified.
  • The specific course requirements for both classifications will be determined by the prescribed course of study leading to a two (2)-year certificate of Engineering Studies as required by recognized local colleges, i.e., Farmingdale, Nassau Community or Suffolk Community Colleges.
  • Applicants will be required to evidence satisfactory completion of these courses and must have a C average in their major courses.
  • Courses taken and successfully passed must include engineering, math, physics, chemistry and drafting
  • Any incumbent who demonstrates satisfactory performance for one (1) year in the department and completes the required studies as specified will be promoted to the Grade-7 classification regardless of unit or Company seniority.
  • Variations from this procedure because of performance, schooling, as other reasons, will be reviewed with Local 1049.
  • Valid Driver's License required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy

Pay Rate: $ 37.42 an hour

Location: Melville
