The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) hiring a District 05 Engineering Technician 5 in Monroe, LA to serve as an Assistant Asphalt Plant Inspector. You will participate in asphalt production inspection, materials testing, and QA under supervision, with leadership duties possible for lower-level staff.
Responsibilities include evaluating mixtures, reviewing tests, and assisting with corrective actions, plus training and committee work.

This Engineering Technician 5 serves as an Assistant Asphalt Plant Inspector within the District Laboratory, performing advanced and highly complex sub-professional engineering work related to asphalt plant inspection, materials testing, and quality assurance. The position works under the broad supervision of the Engineering Technician Consultant responsible for Plant Inspection and assists in monitoring asphalt production and construction materials for compliance with DOTD specifications, quality assurance requirements, and established testing procedures.
The position may also serve as a lead worker, providing technical guidance, training, and functional direction to lower-level personnel engaged in sub-professional engineering work.
