Lam Research in Tualatin is seeking a technician for the SEM Lab. The role involves preparing STEM/TEM samples, optimizing workflows, and rapid data turnaround to support various business groups.

The SEM Lab in Tualatin is committed to providing best‑in‑class microscopy services to support Lam’s engineering and development efforts. Through technical development and continuous improvement we solve difficult analysis problems, enhance throughput, and reduce time to data.
As a technician in the SEM Lab you will support Lam’s various business groups by providing rapid data turnaround, enabling faster time to solution. Productive microscopy work reduces turnaround times, lowers costs versus outside providers, and contributes to business opportunities.
We operate a 12‑hour compressed work week, FEN shift (5 pm – 5 am), working every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, alternating Saturday.
Primary responsibility is the preparation of STEM/TEM samples and imaging in Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM) on Thermo Fisher Helios systems. Additional responsibilities may include FIB‑SEM analysis.

Lam offers a variety of work location models. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on‑site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely. “On‑site Flex” means you’ll work 3+ days per week on site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. “Virtual Flex” means you’ll work 1–2 days per week on site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
