Daikin Applied is seeking anEngineering Technician. In this role youwill work in support of HVAC development programs, technician installs, tests, calibrates, and repairs electromechanical, and electronic measuring. Shift: 2ndshift

What you will do:

• Perform laboratory testing activities in accordance with standard procedures, test requirements, and the ISO 17025 standard
• Perform scheduled instrument verification checks and periodic facility maintenance
• Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment and instruments
• Identify and report nonconformities and abnormal testing conditions
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are upheld at all times
• Maintain a working knowledge of EH&S safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner
• Maintain effective communication with laboratory and project teams
• Obtain fork truck training/license, scissor lift training/license, or refrigerant handling certifications
• Perform test unit setup according to lab procedures and test request requirements
• Create records of testing activities and document them according to laboratory procedures
• Improve laboratory activities on a continuous basis
• Implement corrective and preventative actions
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair test units and facilities

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• HVAC certification or direct work experience with HVAC
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Must have good working knowledge with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two-year technical degree in HVAC or related
• Direct work experience working on and servicing air and water cooled chillers
• Direct work experience in an R&D Lab
• Experience with LabView or other PC based data acquisition tools
• Fork truck training/license, man lift training/license, Universal card, R410a card

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $27 - $34/hr in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
