Job summary

Viant Medical Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician in Wisconsin to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. You will support injection molding machines, automation, and related equipment to ensure safe and efficient production.

The role involves preventive maintenance, reading complex drawings, and working from plans. Shift is 2nd (3:30pm-12am) with occasional OT, on-site in Elkhorn, WI.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance skills.
• Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions with limited information.
• Experience in injection molding environments is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and troubleshoot injection molding machines, automation, auxiliary equipment, grinders, dryers, etc.
• Dismantle and inspect parts, rebuild and overhaul complete machines and troublesome components.
• Service and maintain robotics, hoists, power and miscellaneous material handling equipment.
• Maintain and repair plant systems including plumbing, heating and air conditioning, ventilation and exhaust equipment, compressors, etc.
• Perform electrical repairs on machines and equipment; diagnose electrical/electronic malfunctions and troubleshoot microprocessors.
• Work from complicated drawings, plans, sketches and layouts.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all production equipment using precision measuring instruments.
• Handle other projects and tasks as assigned.

Hours: Monday – Friday / 2 nd shift (3:30pm-12am) / Occasional OT

About the role:

As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. You will perform preventive maintenance on injection molding machines and support the operation of core equipment, including injection molding presses, automation and assembly work cells, material handling systems, and chiller systems, to ensure safe and efficient production.

What you’ll do:

• Repair, maintain and troubleshoot injection molding machines, automation, auxiliary equipment, grinders, dryers, etc.
• Dismantle and inspect parts, rebuild and overhaul complete machines troublesome machine components.
• Service and maintain robotics, hoists, power and miscellaneous material handling equipment.
• Maintain and repair plant systems to include plumbing, heating and air conditioning, ventilating and exhaust equipment, compressors, etc.
• Perform electrical repairs to machines and equipment. Diagnose electrical / electronic malfunctions, troubleshoot microprocessors.
• Work from complicated drawings, plans, sketches and layouts.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities on all production equipment in a timely manner. Use precision measuring instruments such as scale, calipers, dividers, level, micrometers, etc.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance skills, ability to troubleshoot and repair all production facility equipment.
• Proficient in the following trades: Welding, electronics, air compressor, machine shop, hydraulics, and electrical maintenance very desirable.
• Must be able to apply common sense, understand and carry out instructions given in written, verbal or diagram form.
• The ability to effectively prioritize activities and conduct duties with minimal supervision is important.
• The ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions where limited information exists
