Job summary

Actalent in Wilton, CT, is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineering Technician to join a global semiconductor leader. You will assemble, test, and repair mechanical systems, supporting manufacturing and engineering teams while learning from experienced mentors.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with tools, equipment, electronics, or mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on experience building or repairing computers, phones, vehicles, printers, drones, gaming systems, or similar equipment is highly valued.
  • Ability to read technical drawings or willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Support manufacturing and engineering teams during assembly and testing.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and system issues.
  • Assist with prototype builds and new product introductions.
  • Maintain production records and technical documentation.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and performance.
  • Follow cleanroom procedures and safety standards.

What You'll Do

Preferred Qualifications

  • Military technical experience, vocational training, internships, or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience assembling, testing, repairing, or maintaining mechanical or electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement principles.
  • Semiconductor, electronics, cleanroom, or high-tech manufacturing experience is a plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Wilton, CT.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
