Title: Engineering Technician
Location: Wheeling, Illinois

Summary of Primary Functions
- Support the New Product Design & Development process for dispensers, mixers, and shakers.
- Troubleshoot electrical/electronic issues down to the component level using appropriate test tools.
- Read, interpret, or update complex schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Conduct component DFMEA’s or worst-case analysis for electronic and electro-mechanical components.
- Build, test, troubleshoot, and repair production or test equipment.
- Discuss design for assembly procedures and problems with engineering to clarify design details.
- Assemble experimental designs or prototypes according to engineering instructions, utilizing knowledge of electronic systems and components.
- Recommend changes in design or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
- Develop standard test plans, procedures, and test stands to conduct functional testing and evaluation of prototypes or production models.
- Calibrate or adjust prototypes and components to determine effects on performance.
- Develop technical reports with charts/graphs to illustrate operating characteristics, malfunctions, or deviations from design intent.
- Analyze and interpret recorded test data.
- Operate various types of lab test equipment.
- Develop automated test scripts using Python.
Required Experience, Education Level, or Knowledge
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology with a focus on electrical or electronics.
- B.S. in Engineering Technology or Electronics is a plus.
- Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills down to the component level.
- 1-2 years of experience in a product development organization (internships are acceptable).
- Experience analyzing written engineering requirements (internship acceptable).
- Experience assembling engineering prototype designs and test fixtures (internship acceptable).
- Experience testing and troubleshooting electronic control systems (internship acceptable).
- Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment (internship acceptable).
- Familiarity with standard operating procedures.
- Experience with software test applications such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Electronics Workbench is a plus.
- Experience with operating systems like Windows, Unix, or Linux is a plus.
- Experience with programming and scripting languages such as Python or Java is a plus.
