Title- Engineering Technician
Location- San Diego, CA
Duration- 3 months
Shift Time: 8:00am - 5:30pm PSTKey Responsibilities:*Perform prototype rework, device assembly, and wire harness builds.
*Operate prototyping equipments.
*Work in a lab environment under the supervision of the SD management and team leads.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:*Set up and maintain a proto rework station.
*Assist in troubleshooting lab and hardware problems.
*Coordinate and document rework plans with cross functional team members.
*Perform mechanical assembly of panels, test boxes, and chassis.
*Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
*Perform repair work, rework, and modifications to assemblies.
*Maintain proto station materials and equipment.
*Fabricate wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and PCBs.
*Evaluate reliability of materials and techniques used in test platforms.
*Communicate effectively with proto leads and engineering groups.
*Support multiple projects on fast design schedules.
*Understanding of electrical/electronic engineering concepts.
*Familiarity with digital and analog circuit design, RF fundamentals, and communications.
*Experience with proof of concept, prototype, and product design.
*Knowledge of schematic, layout, design for manufacturing, and design verification.
*Experience in industrial automation and hardware.
*Relevant coursework or internships in electronic/mechanical assembly.
*Skilled in using assembly tools (e.g., soldering iron, crimpers, heat gun).
*Basic experience with wire harness and cable assembly fabrication.
*Hands-on experience in prototype assembly, rework, or related technical roles.
*Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
*Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across sites.
*Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and build new processes or workspaces.
Top 5 Required Skills
- 3+ years of electronic/mechanical assembly or related experience perfer.
- 2+ years of experience with assembly equipment and tools (e.g., soldering iron, crimpers, heat gun, hand tools).
- 1+ years of fabrication of wire harnesses and cable assemblies or related experience.
- Understanding and demonstrated application of PWB design principles, practices, and standards.
- Experience designing circuit boards, test fixtures, and cabling.
- Solder and/or ESD certification
