Job summary

City of Lincoln in Peoria, AZ is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Engineering team in developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and products related to armor production.

This hands-on, production-focused role works with Mechanical Engineers, production teams and operations to execute engineering projects, build prototypes, collect test data, and drive improvements.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or technical experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Comfortable working with hand tools, measurement equipment, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, operators, and leadership.
  • Willingness to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Support Mechanical Engineers with daily engineering activities, projects, and production support tasks.
  • Assist with the development, modification, and implementation of manufacturing processes.
  • Support engineering investigations by gathering data, performing measurements, and documenting findings.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues related to processes, equipment, tooling, and product performance.
  • Maintain engineering documentation including work instructions, drawings, specifications, and test records.
  • Build prototypes and engineering samples for product development, customer demonstrations, and testing activities.
  • Perform functional testing and evaluations of materials, components, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Assist with design changes and drawing revisions.
  • Work directly with production teams to implement engineering improvements.
  • Assist with equipment modifications, tooling improvements, and fixture development.
  • Identify opportunities for safety, quality, efficiency, and cost improvements.
  • Support engineering projects through task completion, scheduling support, and documentation.

Summary of Position:

The Engineering Technician supports the Engineering team in the development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and products related to armor production.
