Job summary

• Interact with Environmental, Safety and Health to maintain a safe, compliant lab.

• Solder bench: daily cleaning and tool/supply management.
• Maintain consumables inventory and spare parts.

Job description

Texas Instruments is seeking a Lab Manager to join our team in Knoxville. In this role you will be responsible for technical functions in support of product development lab engineering activities such as schematic capture, PCB layout, soldering, test, board modification, assembly, characterization, functional validation, and electrical analysis of prototype electrical systems, experimental design circuitry, specialized test equipment, and/or IC devices. You will use assembly, test and diagnostic equipment, schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts and/or defined plans to perform operational testing, checkout, and fault isolation on systems and equipment. You will also conduct engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work as well as maintain lab processes and documentation in accordance with IATF 16949.

• Responsible for assuring compliance to Safety and Quality guidelines
• Provide daily support for all activities of the engineering lab
• Calibration coordination - Scheduling and accountability of test equipment for annual 17025 accredited calibration
• Interaction with Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) to maintain a safe and compliant engineering lab
• Oversee the maintenance of the lab equipment in accordance to company standards and ensures minimum equipment downtime
• Daily support including diagnostics, calibration and repair of Automated (ATE) testers (Teradyne ETS364 and ETS800)
• Bench hazard Assessment awareness
• Monthly Equipment inventory scans/audits
• Solder bench – Daily cleaning and tool/supply management
• Maintain Consumables inventory and/or spare parts
• General working Knowledge (proper use and damage prevention)

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• Associates degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET)
• Minimum of 3 years of Technician experience.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with soldering integrated circuits
• Experience with Cadence Allegro PCB design software
• Fundamental knowledge of basic electronics
• Self-driven with ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
• Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and working under various distractions and constraints
• Strong troubleshooting skills on electrical systems
• Exceptional attention to detail - Experience with bench and automated test equipment
• Proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
• Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
