Job summary

Qualifications

We are seeking an Engineering Technician - in this role you will support prototyping and testing for several programs, working with broad multi-disciplinary team. This role is expected to be full-time onsite at our Hayward, CA facility.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and uphold high standards for safety, communication, accountability, timeliness, documentation and workmanship.
• Build prototypes and test articles, from hacked bench experiments to complete HV (high voltage) systems. Establish best practices, develop work instuctions / SOPs, and understand how and why the details matter.
• Create test fixtures and equipment. Program, operate and maintain test infrastructure. Develop best practices around test methods and procedures.
• Execute electrical and mechanical testing. Clearly understand risks to safety and test integrity, and manage them carefully.
• Work collaboratively within program teams (design, testing, program management, supply chain, leadership) to manage priorities and timing effectively.
• Capture build documentation, plans, test procedures and results with technical precision and appropriate detail.
• Develop and characterize new test methodologies, fixtures, means of evaluating performance, and workflow improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

• +4 years working in a lab environment, including testing/data collection.
• Prior exposure to battery systems and safety topics and high voltage electronics strongly preferred.
• Experience building and testing prototypes of complex systems.
• Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
• Strong technical communication skills (written and verbal).
• Comfortable with basic hand and machine shop tools. Demonstrated ability to independently devise and fabricate fixtures, simple plumbing / wiring setups, etc.

Compensation - $40-$60/hr, depending on experience and leveling.
