Job summary

Job description

The Engineering Technician provides technical support for the design, development, testing, and manufacturing of electric motors and electromechanical assemblies. Working closely with Design Engineers, Production, and Quality personnel, this role is responsible for executing engineering activities, supporting manufacturing operations, and ensuring accurate documentation, testing, and implementation of engineering solutions. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and enjoys solving practical problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with assembly, modification, and evaluation of prototype units.
  • Provide feedback to engineering regarding manufacturability, assembly methods, and production challenges.
  • Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Assist with creating, updating, and maintaining standard operating procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support engineering documentation and revision control activities.
  • Provide direct technical support to manufacturing operations personnel.
  • Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing, assembly, and equipment issues.
  • Implement engineering changes and process improvements as directed.
  • Assist with electric motor testing, including performance, heat run, qualification, and validation testing.
  • Collect, document, and organize test results for engineering review.
  • Identify and document non-conforming materials, components, and products.
  • Assist with root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
  • Support quality inspections, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Coordinate calibration and maintenance of manufacturing and testing equipment.
  • Recommend practical improvements to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
Required
  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Industrial Technology, or related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering support, maintenance, or technical environment.
Preferred
  • Experience in electric motor or electromechanical manufacturing, testing, or repair.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management.
