Pay Rate: $45-$50/hour
Position Overview
Brooksource Engineering Services is seeking an Engineering Technician to support a high-volume, GMP-regulated manufacturing operation. This individual will provide hands-on technical support for production equipment, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, coordinate maintenance activities, and support continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment, possesses strong troubleshooting skills, and can work independently in a fast-paced night shift operation while maintaining strict compliance with quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on equipment support for automated manufacturing and packaging systems during production operations.
- Troubleshoot equipment, process, and operational issues and streamline complex issues when appropriate.
- Perform equipment adjustments, setup activities, and production changeovers.
- Coordinate and document preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities.
- Create, update, and close work orders in CMMS systems.
- Maintain accurate equipment logs, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
- Support root cause investigations and deviation documentation activities.
- Assist with equipment reliability, capacity improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Support commissioning, qualification, and validation activities including IQ, OQ, and PQ protocols.
- Partner closely with engineering, maintenance, quality, and operations teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, safety procedures, and site quality standards.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to manufacturing personnel as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on equipment uptime, reliability, and process performance.
- Complete all required training, onboarding, and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Associate degree, technical certification, or military technical training in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting electromechanical equipment.
- Experience supporting automated manufacturing, assembly, packaging, or production equipment.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance documentation practices.
- Experience using CMMS platforms such as Maximo, SAP PM, or similar systems.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and SOPs.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on an overnight shift with minimal supervision.
- Experience supporting GMP, pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech, food & beverage, or highly regulated manufacturing operations preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automated assembly, filling, packaging, or inspection systems.
- Familiarity with servo-driven equipment and vision inspection systems.
- Experience supporting commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
- Knowledge of GMP documentation practices and deviation management processes.
- Military maintenance, electronics, or engineering experience highly valued.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a 12-hour shift.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds periodically.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE.
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop, and work around production equipment when required.
