Job summary

Acutronic Integrated Systems Inc. in Austin, Texas is seeking an Engineering Technician to support NPI prototyping, testing, and production documentation. You will work closely with the engineering team to drive manufacturing readiness and product improvements.

The role emphasizes hands-on assembly, test operations, and strong collaboration to ensure DFMA standards and IPC compliance are met across aerospace components divisions.

Qualifications

• Experience with electronics production and PCBA assembly/test.
• Proficiency with IPC standards or familiarity.
• Ability to document assembly/test processes and product configuration.
• Experience using CAD tools for electrical design.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot during NPI processes.
• Assist engineering with documenting assembly/test processes for production.
• Assist with product configuration documentation.
• Improve production docs to meet current standards.
• Lead troubleshooting for product performance issues.
• Collaborate on process and design improvements.
• Inspect products to meet IPC and quality standards.
• Support DFA (DFMA) reviews during development.
• Create engineering prototypes with the team for improvements.
• Design/perform design verification testing with engineers.
• Analyze test data to resolve design problems.
• Assess field returns for root cause using customer feedback.
• Help create training modules for new staff.

Acutronic is looking for an Engineering Technician who will perform a critical role within the Aerospace Components Division and serves as a champion of product development prototyping and testing within the Engineering Team.

Engineering Technician

Your Roles/Responsibilities:

• Perform assembly, test, and troubleshooting operations required throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
• Proactively assist the engineering team with the documentation of assembly and test processes required for production
• Assist the engineering team with the documentation of product configuration
• Establish and improve production documentation ensuring compliance with current standards
• Lead troubleshooting efforts related to product performance
• Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and implement production process and design improvements
• Inspect internally and externally assembled products to ensure compliance with IPC and other industry quality standards
• Participate in new product development reviews to help ensure product meets DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) standards
• Collaborate with the engineering team to produce engineering prototypes, identifying product enhancements and process steps to ensure product improvements are captured and implemented
• Collaborate with the engineering team to design and perform design verification testing
• Collect and interpret test information to resolve design related problems
• Evaluate field returns for compliance with product standards and assessment of root cause for return using customer findings and internal evaluation
• Collaborate with the engineering team to create training modules for newer/less experienced personnel

Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:

• Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or similar discipline preferred
• At least five years of experience in electronics production (PCBA assembly and test)
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
• Familiarity with electronic product production standards required, IPC certification preferred
• Proficiency using electrical engineering CAD tools (ref Altium, or similar) preferred
• Familiarity with software integration with hardware, including making minor modifications to software, preferred
