Job summary

Acutronic Integrated Systems Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Aerospace Components Division with prototyping, testing, and NPI activities, ensuring DFMA alignment and production readiness.

You will assemble, test, troubleshoot, document processes, and collaborate with engineering to drive product improvements, while maintaining IPC standards and cross-functional training.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years in electronics production (PCBA assembly and test).
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• IPC certification preferred.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD tools (Altium or similar) preferred.
• Familiarity with software-hardware integration and minor software tweaks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot during New Product Introduction (NPI).
• Document assembly and test processes for production.
• Document product configuration and maintain production docs to current standards.
• Lead troubleshooting for product performance issues.
• Collaborate on production process and design improvements.
• Inspect products to IPC and quality standards.
• Support DFMA reviews to ensure manufacturability.
• Develop prototypes and test plans with engineering.
• Create training materials for new personnel.

Acutronic is looking for an Engineering Technician who will perform a critical role within the Aerospace Components Division and serves as a champion of product development prototyping and testing within the Engineering Team.

Engineering Technician

Your Roles/Responsibilities:

• Perform assembly, test, and troubleshooting operations required throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
• Proactively assist the engineering team with the documentation of assembly and test processes required for production
• Assist the engineering team with the documentation of product configuration
• Establish and improve production documentation ensuring compliance with current standards
• Lead troubleshooting efforts related to product performance
• Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and implement production process and design improvements
• Inspect internally and externally assembled products to ensure compliance with IPC and other industry quality standards
• Participate in new product development reviews to help ensure product meets DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) standards
• Collaborate with the engineering team to produce engineering prototypes, identifying product enhancements and process steps to ensure product improvements are captured and implemented
• Collaborate with the engineering team to design and perform design verification testing
• Collect and interpret test information to resolve design related problems
• Evaluate field returns for compliance with product standards and assessment of root cause for return using customer findings and internal evaluation
• Collaborate with the engineering team to create training modules for newer/less experienced personnel

Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:

• Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or similar discipline preferred
• At least five years of experience in electronics production (PCBA assembly and test)
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
• Familiarity with electronic product production standards required, IPC certification preferred
• Proficiency using electrical engineering CAD tools (ref Altium, or similar) preferred
• Familiarity with software integration with hardware, including making minor modifications to software, preferred
