Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is preferred and other relevant technical education considered.
• Minimum of two years in a technical/science role.
• Strong writing and editing skills to clearly explain complex technical subjects.
• Ability to analyze technical information, identify gaps, ask focused questions, and extract relevant details.
• Sound research skills with commitment to factual accuracy and source verification.
• Experience using AI tools productively with prudent judgment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Must reside in the Columbus, Ohio area.

Responsibilities

• Interview engineers, project managers, and other subject matter experts to understand technical projects, development activities, and engineering challenges.
• Review and analyze technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, test results, change orders, design notes, and related project records.
• Identify and document technical uncertainties, alternatives considered, experimentation, and the technical basis for project decisions.
• Prepare clear, well-supported technical narratives for R&D tax credit studies.
• Edit and refine drafts for accuracy, organization, clarity, consistency, and appropriate technical detail.
• Verify technical statements against source documentation and ensure reports are supported by reliable evidence.
• Use AI tools and other available resources to improve research and drafting while independently editing content, validating accuracy, and maintaining professional standards.
• Conduct client-site visits, primarily in Ohio and the Midwest, when needed to understand projects and gather technical information.
