Job summary

PCL Construction is seeking a Field Engineer Intern to support field teams on projects across Minnesota and North Dakota. You will assist field engineers, project managers and superintendents, participate in safety and quality audits, and help with drawings, RFIs, and field documentation during the summer internship.

The role targets full‑time students in construction-related programs, with eligibility to work in the U.S., a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel to various job sites.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree relevant to the construction industry (e.g. construction management, construction engineering, construction technology, etc.)
• Desire to pursue a career in construction project management, field supervision, or estimating.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States and 18 years of age or older
• Possess a valid drivers license and have reliable transportation to travel to and from the job site
• Able to work full time from May to August in MN or ND or other states where our construction projects are located (a monthly housing allowance will be provided to selected candidates who are working in an area different from their residence)
• Able to navigate through a construction site on a daily basis, climb ladders and stairs
• Based on client requirements, candidates may be required to complete a criminal background check
• Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test conducted by a third party

• Prepares memos, letters, meeting minutes, contracts, and other forms and documents
• Assists with project documentation requirements
• Assists with estimating and soliciting subcontractors and/or suppliers for information and pricing
• Performs other duties as assigned

The estimated wage for this role is $20-25/hour , based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
