Job summary

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under J-Tech II.

The Engineering Technician I will perform basic tasks under supervision, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and testing of electronic/mechanical equipment. Responsibilities include documenting work, assisting with hardware/software testing, and interfacing with on-site personnel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Hands-on experience with tasks related to the work unit is desirable.
• Basic computer systems knowledge.
• Ability to take direction from senior staff and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• Strong planning/organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support production of technical documents and drawings.
• Research technical issues for input to reports and studies.
• Assist in design, coding, and documentation of software products.
• Maintain filing systems, databases, and logs for tracking project status and inventory.
• Assist on-site interface for equipment installation, testing, fabrication, and other engineering tasks.
• Comply with engineering documentation standards, plans, system specifications, and test procedures.
• Complete relatively simple assignments of moderate complexity that vary in nature and sequence.
• Perform other job-related duties, as required.

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

Job Duties - Essential Functions

Under close supervision of a technical lead or unit supervisor, an Engineering Technician I performs a variety of basic or routine tasks during the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems.

• Support production of technical documents and drawings
• Research technical issues for input to reports and studies
• Support fabrication and testing of hardware and software systems
• Assist in design, coding, and documentation of software products
• Maintain filing systems, databases, and logs for tracking project status and inventory
• Assist work unit personnel as the on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, fabrication, and other engineering tasks
• Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, system specifications, and test procedures
• Use established policies and procedures and limited subject matter knowledge to complete relatively simple assignments of moderate complexity that vary in nature and sequence
• Perform other job-related duties, as required.

Requirements - Education, Technical, And Work Experience

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required for this position.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Employee will be required to work some shift work, at remote locations, and occasional over-night assignments. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor duties may be performed on even or uneven surfaces, which may be dry or wet. Grease or oil may be found on working surfaces. Outdoor duties may be performed on gravel or shingled roof. Climbing stairs, ladders, towers, and scaffolds, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, (anything heavier requires two or more people or mechanical assistance) are required. A government vehicle is used on an as-needed basis. Use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.

Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
