Job summary

KPC GLOBAL MEDICAL CENTERS INC. in Hemet, CA is seeking an Engineering Tech on a TEMP/PER DIEM basis to perform maintenance on hospital equipment, plant systems and facilities.

You will work 8-hour shifts, including some weekends and holidays, coordinating with the engineering team to keep critical systems reliable. POSITION SUMMARY

DEFINITION

Under general direction, performs a variety of duties including preventive maintenance, inspection, service, repair, overhaul and general maintenance of equipment, plant equipment and facilities of the hospital; and to do other work as required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way would be:

Education

Post high school vocation with specialized training.

Experience

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in building maintenance or considerable experience in one or more trades such as plumbing, electrical, pipe fitting, HVAC or closely related.

Licensure/Certification

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver’s license. Employees must maintain a driving record, which meets the insurability requirements of the PHH, Inc. Must be licensed in one or more trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.), Journeyman’s Certificate or Healthcare Mechanic Certification is acceptable or a minimum of three (3) years verifiable experience through employment history in one of the above trades.

This position does REQUIRE some weekends/Holidays.

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

Knowledge of:

• Testing instruments on electrical lighting, emergency generators, alarm systems, communication system, and medical equipment and HVAC system.
• Hand tools and power tools.
• Basic mathematics and report writing.

Ability to:

• Test, repair, install and replace electrical circuits, equipment and appliances.
• Operate refrigeration, cooling and air conditioning systems and equipment.
• Understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.
• Keep abreast of developments in the field of expertise
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
