Job summary

VCluster Labs seeks an Engineering Tech Lead (Product Security) to help build secure infrastructure software from the ground up, bringing hands-on penetration testing and deep Kubernetes expertise to our products. You will review security-sensitive designs, model threats for new features, investigate vulnerabilities, and help teams make sound security decisions as the platform evolves.

In this role, you will own vulnerability response, conduct code and design reviews, and drive secure defaults

Qualifications

• Hands‑on penetration testing experience focusing on production systems.
• Kubernetes attack surface knowledge including container breakout and RBAC best practices.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes internals: API server, admission controllers, RBAC, controllers, kubelet.
• Experience threat modeling and reviewing designs for production systems.
• Experience investigating and fixing vulnerabilities including CVE lifecycle and coordinated disclosure.
• Production Go engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Penetration testing: assess products and infra for exploitable weaknesses with a focus on Kubernetes and container isolation.
• Own vulnerability response: triage, prioritize, and fix security issues through to patched releases.
• Threat modeling: review security-sensitive designs early and identify risks.
• Code and design reviews: participate in reviews and security-focused discussions.
• Improve security practices across engineering: promote secure defaults in the product.
