Job summary

Google is seeking a Security Engineer for GKE to strengthen Kubernetes platform security across Google Cloud. You will collaborate with software and infrastructure teams to identify and fix vulnerabilities, implement risk-based controls, and guide security best practices for container workloads.

In this role you will lead the GKE security program, perform deep security reviews, and help shape a long-term threat-detection strategy to keep Google services and users safe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with security assessments, design reviews, or threat modeling.
• 8 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols.
• 8 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
• 2 years of experience working with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale the GKE Platform Security team to address infrastructure risks.
• Perform deep-dive Kubernetes security reviews and build threat models.
• Establish secure ops practices and deliver security guidance to engineers.
• Conduct design reviews to identify gaps and coordinate threat-detection strategy.
