Position Summary
We are seeking motivated individuals with foundational skills in surveying, drafting, and engineering support who are ready to take on greater responsibility to work from either of our office locations - Bradley, IL and Manhattan, IL. In this role, you will progressively take on a wide range of field and office technical responsibilities with increasing independence, including surveying support, CAD drafting, construction observation assistance, data processing, and quality reviews of engineering documents.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with field surveying operations and operate survey equipment under survey staff guidance.
- Collect, organize, and process survey data for use in mapping, plats, and engineering design.
- Prepare and revise survey plats, maps, construction drawings, and related documents using CAD software.
- Create topographic surfaces, contours, and other drafting deliverables.
- Support engineers, surveyors, and project managers with technical documentation, calculations, and reports.
- Participate in the firm’s QA/QC process by reviewing drawings, specifications, notes, and other engineering documents.
- Assist with construction observation, including field documentation, photographs, measurements, and draft reports.
- Maintain organized project files and records per company standards.
- Support the maintenance, calibration, and organization of field and office equipment.
- Complete routine technical assignments independently: seek guidance on complex work.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Progress toward an Associate Degree in Drafting, Surveying, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in surveying, drafting, engineering support, construction inspection, or related work.
- Solid computer, math, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of application of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to surveying and/or drafting, or other related field.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, construction drawings, and survey plats.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds and traverse uneven terrain for extended periods.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar software.
- Experience processing survey data and preparing deliverables.
- Familiarity with construction plans, utility infrastructure, and municipal projects.
