Engineering Team Leader

Atlanta, Georgia

As part of the Buildings team for Garver, this Engineering Team Leader will be responsible for building the practice in the greater Atlanta market. Specifically, this responsibility will include:

  1. Building and leading a multi-discipline engineering team that supports architectural clients.
  2. Developing outside architectural firms as Garver and Buildings Team clients.
  3. Providing engineering support for architectural clients, particularly structural, mechanical, and electrical.
  4. Managing projects and providing discipline-specific design.

This role will also involve coordination with other internal teams across Garver’s regional footprint. Travel may be required depending on client and project locations.

Abilities and attributes needed for this position:

  • Discipline-specific building design experience – structural, mechanical, or electrical engineering design related to buildings.
  • Experience working directly with architectural clients and managing engineering aspects of building design projects.
  • Experience in client relations and project pursuits.
  • Knowledge of building components and systems.
  • Knowledge of engineering and sustainability principles.
  • Proficiency with CAD and BIM design software to produce construction drawings.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
  • Strong time management and product quality responsibility.
  • Ability to keep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projects.
  • Development and adherence to Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans.
  • Commitment to continuing education and learning based on project needs and team development.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architectural engineering with a structural, mechanical, or electrical focus from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
  • 5 to 15 years of building design and construction industry experience.
  • Active engagement with architectural clients.
  • Proven experience overseeing building designs, including detailed plans and specifications.
  • Technical competence in building system designs.
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
