Gary Community School Corporation seeks a Substitute Teacher to support Engineering Essentials instruction, help students master subject matter, and maintain classroom routines aligned with school policies.
Indiana DOE Teaching License is required. The role involves collaborating with principals and team leaders, adhering to guidance, and contributing to a constructive learning environment through reliable attendance and ongoing professional development.
To help students learn subject matter and skills related to Engineering content area will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible men and women, and cause them to perform satisfactorily on educational measurement instruments adopted by the corporation.
Engineering Essentials is designed as a first-exposure experience to inspire students of all backgrounds to explore the breadth of engineering-related career opportunities. Throughout the course, students explore global engineering challenges and sustainability goals, the impact of engineering, and the variety of career paths available to them. Students will understand the various disciplines within the engineering field, approach and solve problems in different ways, use a variety of industry tools, and build an engineering mindset. NOTE: This course aligns with the PLTW Engineering Essentials curriculum. Use of the PLTW curriculum may require additional training and membership in the PLTW network.
