Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) is seeking a capable individual to perform basic testing and troubleshooting of SEL products under guidance. You will provide updates to staff and customers and work with teammates to improve processes and documentation.

The role emphasizes learning department procedures, building discipline knowledge, and embracing SEL values and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on position that supports a collaborative team dedicated to quality and

Qualifications

  • Two years’ relevant experience.
  • Able to efficiently operate Windows and MS Office.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete basic testing, services, or troubleshooting of SEL products following procedures.
  • Provide status updates to SEL staff and customers; communicate with team and partners.
  • Learn and follow department processes and suggest improvements to docs or work instructions.
  • Represent the team in collaborative improvement efforts.
  • Develop basic proficiency in a supported discipline (Flowline, Product Hospital, test infra, or R&D)
  • Learn SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Complete basic testing, services, or troubleshooting of SEL products and processes in accordance with defined procedures under the direction of more experienced staff.2. Provides status updates to SEL staff and customers. Communicates effectively with team and internal partners and customers.3. Learn and follow department processes while communicating opportunities for improvement to documentation or work instructions.4. Represent your team by participating in collaborative improvement efforts.5. Develop basic proficiency in the activities required to support one of the Operation Team’s disciplines (i.e. Flowline product failures, Product Hospital, test infrastructure support, or Test Lab), or R&D’s disciplines (i.e. Lab Support, Product Test, Infrastructure, or Compliance).6. Learn and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.7. Understand. Create. Simplify.8. As a result, pay may vary to align with the level of the role.
