Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) invites an Engineering Support Aide, Emerging Talent Intern to join the Elevators & Escalators Division at 130 Livingston Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201. This onsite internship provides hands-on exposure to supporting project engineering tasks, maintaining records, and coordinating documentation with internal stakeholders.

Ideal candidates are undergraduates with a 2.5 GPA or higher and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
• Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently while being a team player.

Responsibilities

• Provide insights and recommendations to support the technical requirements with internal stakeholders.
• Install project specific software and files onto laptops and shared drives.
• Work on a tracking system for inventory deliverables (i.e., CDs, O&M manuals, tools).
• Coordinate the digitization of existing O&M manuals with third party contractor.
• Maintain records and files.
• Review equipment drawings and specifications. Provide feedback to project managers.
• Learn about engineering systems and processes.
• Work on special projects and support with ad hoc analysis within the department.
