Job summary

Town of Berthoud, CO is seeking a professional engineer to perform complex engineering review for development projects, including drainage, water, and roadways. You will oversee MS4 compliance, coordinate development agreements, and present findings to planning commission and town board.

The role involves supervising construction inspections and managing SYNCHRO data, with a focus on collaboration across departments and external partners. A PE license and CFM are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).
• Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Three years of related experience in an organization of similar size and complexity.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review private development plans including utilities, drainage, and roadways for conformance with standards and Town Code.
• Perform development construction inspections and coordinate with departments and external stakeholders.
• Manage the Stormwater Management (MS4) program including inspections, compliance notices, and annual reporting to the State.
• Prepare and present findings regarding proposed developments to planning commission and town board.
• Coordinate the SYNCHRO Intersection model and ensure data is current.
• Act as Floodplain Administrator and coordinate capital improvement project reviews.
