Job summary

Drexel University in University City, Philadelphia is seeking an Academic Advisor to manage an undergraduate caseload within the College of Engineering and Computing. You will serve as an instructor for EXP 1001, guide students through curriculum and degree requirements, and support initiatives to promote retention and success.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 0–2 years of experience in academic advising, student services, or related educational environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise a caseload of current and prospective students on curriculum and degree requirements.
• Provide developmental advising focused on reasoning, goal setting, and referrals.
• Advise students on college and University regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Support diverse academic, personal, and developmental student needs.
• Connect students with appropriate resources to promote success.
• Manage transactional advising: add/drop, changes of major, academic standing, and related processes.
• Assist with registration and resolve related issues.
• Monitor progress and intervene when needed.
• Communicate with students, faculty, and administration about academic matters.
• Maintain timely student records and documentation.
• Assist with advising technology and use of student information systems.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information per FERPA and policies.
• Teach EXP 1001, and participate in other duties as assigned.
