Loews Hotels & Co in Orlando is seeking a skilled Engineering Specialist – Painter to maintain high standards of appearance across hotel areas. You will perform painting, finishing, drywall texture, and related surface work with precision and safety in mind.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled painting, including prep, mixing, color matching, priming, sealing, sanding, and finishing using various coatings.
  • Apply drywall texture, wallpaper, and touch-up paint for consistent aesthetics.
  • Patch and repair drywall to meet safety and visual standards.
  • Safely operate and maintain painting tools and equipment.
  • Label, store, and manage paint/supply inventory per safety regulations.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance/service calls and guest requests.

About Lakewood Regional Support

Our regional support center provides resources to our hotels for multiple areas including Human Resources, Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Security, Group Reservations, Guest Contact Center, Information Technology, Laundry and Communications.

What We’re Looking For:

A highly skilled Engineering Specialist – Painter to perform painting, finishing, and surface treatment throughout our property. This hands-on role requires a deep understanding of painting techniques, surface preparation, and materials to maintain a high standard of appearance across all hotel areas. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, responsive to maintenance and guest needs, and able to handle a wide range of responsibilities-from precision touch-ups to full-scale refinishing projects-while ensuring a clean, safe, and professional work environment.

What You Will Do:
  • Perform skilled painting tasks including preparation, mixing, color matching, priming, sealing, sanding, and finishing of walls, furniture, doors, fixtures, and surfaces using various finishes like lacquer, enamel, epoxy, and heat-resistant coatings.
  • Apply drywall texture, acoustic finishes, wallpaper, and touch-up paint to maintain consistent aesthetics throughout the hotel.
  • Patch, tape, and repair drywall and other surfaces to ensure all work areas meet visual and safety standards.
  • Safely operate, clean, and maintain a range of painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, and pumps.
  • Accurately label, store, and manage paint and supply inventory in compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance service calls, guest requests, and urgent painting needs across hotel facilities.
Your Experience Includes:
  • Proven experience as a commercial or residential painter, preferably in a hotel or facilities setting.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, particularly in handling specialized surfaces or finishes.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting safety rules, maintenance manuals, and equipment instructions.
  • Comfort working with computers and Windows-based software systems.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and remain outdoors for extended periods as needed.
