Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or Survey Technology and seven years of progressive technician experience or an equivalent education/experience combination.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction plans, contract provisions, specifications and procedures.
• Customer service experience resolving problems and explaining engineering concepts to diverse groups.
• Experience applying engineering concepts to solve problems and working in a team.
• Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office and Teams, and editing apps such as Bluebeam or Adobe.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate review of technical plans and drawings for subdivisions, utilities, and roadway improvements for approval and permitting.
• Process permits for driveways, utilities, and non-utility encroachment agreements.
• Review requests for road additions and abandonments and related records.
• Conduct preconstruction meetings and onsite inspections within the right-of-way.
• Train and mentor technicians; review their work for accuracy and completeness.
• Respond to public inquiries and complaints; support operations during planned events and inclement weather.
