Freeport-McMoRan in Bagdad, AZ is seeking an Engineering Specialist I - Tailings to provide technical guidance for site projects under close supervision. The role involves reviewing investigations, developing recommendations, and supporting small to medium construction efforts.

You will work with vendors, learn local regulations, and contribute to the safe, efficient operation of our tailings facilities in a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 4 years of engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and guidance for designated engineering projects and programs at the assigned site.
• Review, investigate and develop recommendations for assigned engineering projects.
• Participate in site construction, expansion or modification projects and manage vendor contracts.
• Develop working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations relevant to the assignment.

What You Will Do

Under close supervision, you assist in providing technical advice and guidance for designated engineering projects and programs at the assigned site. You assist in the review, investigation and development of appropriate recommendations regarding assigned engineering projects. You participate on small to medium site construction, expansion or modification projects and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment. You develop a working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations appropriate to the area of assignment and perform other duties as required.

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $75,000 - $104,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
