Job Description

This role focuses on creating, reviewing, and supporting detailed engineering drawing packages for electrical, mechanical, transmission, and related projects. The Design and Drafting Specialist uses established engineering practices, technical standards, and CAD software to ensure drawings meet project specifications, industry quality standards, and customer requirements while supporting project coordination and manufacturing operations.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications, including spreadsheets and related software.
• Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and demonstrate self-motivation.
• Effective problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment

The role is primarily based at a computer workstation, requiring regular use of a keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment. The position involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, and performing routine movements throughout the workday. The specialist may occasionally need to lift, carry, or move materials and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds. At times, work may take place in typical manufacturing and production environments, where exposure to associated physical hazards and adherence to safety requirements is expected. The individual must comply with all workplace safety policies and procedures while working in both office and production settings.

This is a Permanent position based out of Des Moines, IA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
