SoTalent is seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist for Facilities and Critical Utilities to lead global standards for utility systems and site-level modernization. You will oversee HVAC, WFI, compressed air, and electrical infrastructure with strong regulatory focus.

Our client a global leader in the healthcare manufacturing sector is seeking a highly experienced Engineering Specialist to join their Global Engineering division. This is a strategic technical role focused on ensuring the reliability and regulatory compliance of critical utility systems and infrastructure across a worldwide network of production sites.
The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert providing technical guidance for pharmaceutical facility improvements and large scale capital projects. You will act as a bridge between corporate standards and site level operations helping to modernize manufacturing environments and drive energy efficiency initiatives.
Create and maintain global engineering standards for utility systems and facility design.
Provide technical oversight for critical systems including HVAC WFI compressed air and electrical infrastructure.
Lead technical reviews for facility designs and engineering studies to ensure alignment with cGMP and safety regulations.
Collaborate with site leaders to plan and execute complex facility upgrades and reliability improvements.
Support global sustainability goals through the implementation of carbon reduction and energy efficient technologies.
Develop standardized project documentation including scopes of work and basis of design.
Offer mentorship to engineering teams across various international locations.
Participate in capital planning and project gate reviews.
Maintain awareness of evolving industry practices and regulatory changes to update internal procedures.
Travel up to 25 percent both domestically and internationally.
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
Minimum of 15 years of experience within pharmaceutical facility or utility engineering.
At least 8 years of experience in a senior technical leadership or specialist role.
A minimum of 3 years spent directly supporting manufacturing operations.
Deep understanding of cGMP requirements and highly regulated manufacturing environments.
Comprehensive knowledge of systems such as HVAC high purity water mechanical electrical and plumbing.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory bodies including FDA OSHA ISO ISPE and ASME.
Proven experience managing capital projects from initial concept through to commissioning.
Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
Strong background in continuous improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across different functions and regions.
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is between 152000 and 209000 dollars depending on experience and location. The role may also be eligible for performance based bonuses.
