Job summary

Mann+Hummel in Gastonia, North Carolina is seeking an Engineering Shop Technician to support engineering and manufacturing by operating machinery, reading blueprints, and maintaining shop tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in engineering or related field is a plus.
• 3–5 years’ experience as Manufacturing Assembly Technician or a shop technician in a production environment.
• Proficient in operating and maintaining a variety of assembly tools and machinery.
• Ability to read technical drawings and use measurement tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• MS Office proficiency (Word/Excel).
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM tools and CNC machining is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain machinery in the engineering shop.
• Follow technical specifications and blueprints to ensure accurate production.
• Assist engineers in developing prototypes and experimental projects.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot and refine prototypes.
• Perform routine maintenance on shop tools and equipment and report issues.
• Manage materials, track inventory, and coordinate supplies.
