We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Shop Technician to join our dynamic team at Mann+Hummel. As an Engineering Shop Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and manufacturing processes by providing technical assistance, operating machinery, and ensuring the efficient functioning of our engineering shop.

Main Tasks

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Shop Technician to join our dynamic team at Mann+Hummel. As an Engineering Shop Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and manufacturing processes by providing technical assistance, operating machinery, and ensuring the efficient functioning of our engineering shop.

  • Operate and maintain various machinery and equipment in the engineering shop
  • Follow technical specifications and blueprints to ensure accurate production
  • Assist engineers in the development of prototypes and experimental projects
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot and refine prototypes
  • Perform routine maintenance on shop tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality
  • Report any malfunctioning equipment and coordinate repairs as needed
  • Manage and organize materials and components in the shop
  • Track inventory levels and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need replenishment
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards promptly
  • Keep detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and shop activities
  • Document any changes made to prototypes or machinery

Your Profile
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in engineering or a related field is a plus
  • 3-5 years’ experience as Manufacturing Assembly Technician or a shop technician or similar role in a production environment
Required Skills:
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining a variety of assembly tools and machinery
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, the ability to read technical drawings, and measurement skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proven ability to work with various software applications: Word processing and spreadsheet programs (MS Office)
  • Proven work experience as a Manufacturing Assembly Technician or a similar role
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with filtration products
  • Experience in prototyping is a plus
  • Proficiency in CNC machining parts
  • Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software
