A leading company in food packaging is seeking a Project Manager to lead innovation projects from concept to commercialization. The role requires a Master's degree in a relevant field, significant experience in R&D within the food plastic packaging industry, and strong project management skills. The position also involves conducting research and market analysis, supporting the development of sustainable packaging solutions, and entails some travel to the Toronto location.
Duties: Lead innovation projects of food processing or packaging performance from concept to commercialization. Coordinate development and implementation processes, including scheduling, and leading the monthly governance committee review and ensuring key deliverables are obtained prior to advancement of the stage-gate sequence. Assist project sponsors in the ideation and concept development process and in the preparation of financial and business models. Prepare regular status reports, highlighting key milestones, issues, and recommendations. Ensure all project pipeline initiatives have well-defined and properly resourced project plans that are communicated and visible. Lead cross-divisional teams to examine the effects of food processing on packaging performance. Conduct research into novel food processing and packaging technologies and create case studies to facilitate commercial applications. Evaluate potential food markets and provide in-depth analysis of food & packaging interactions. Conduct market research to gather innovative ideas and identify needs in the food packaging sector, fostering connections among channel partners, research institutes, and the food industry. Support the development of innovative rigid food packaging materials such as sustainable packaging that provide strategic market advantages. More than 5% travel to company location in Toronto, Canada is required.
Min Requirements: Master’s degree in Food Science or Packaging or Engineering & 3 yrs professional exp, incl 3 yrs of R&D development exp in the food plastic packaging industry; & 3 yrs of project management exp. PMP Certification required. Employee may work from any location in the United States subject to company remote work policy.
