Job summary

Secretariat is offering an engineering internship tied to the Global Engineering Sciences team. You will work on real client projects from investigation through reporting, learning to break down complex questions and communicate findings clearly.

The role supports field inspections, data analysis, and drafting report sections, with mentorship from experienced engineers. Chicago is the hub, but work is performed in Peoria, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
• Expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2030.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Interest in pursuing PE credentials is a plus.
• Strong communication and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Assist with real client projects from investigation through reporting.
• Support failure investigations and compare conditions with original designs and documents.
• Assist with field inspections, site visits, and testing activities.
• Perform engineering calculations and data analysis to solve problems.
• Help draft clear report sections and contribute to visuals and exhibits.
