Job summary

Hitachi Vantara Corporation in South Boston, VA is seeking an Engineering Quality Specialist to drive quality excellence across the North American HUB. You will report to the Hub North America Engineering Managers and contribute to product quality in transformers and related components.

The role focuses on establishing control mechanisms, supporting DFMEA development, root-cause analysis, and ensuring verification and validation practices are effective.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years in a Quality Management role in engineering.
• Hands-on electro-mechanical industry QA experience.
• Proficient with Lean Six Sigma and quality tools.
• Familiar with ISO 9001, IEEE or IEC standards.
• Strong communication and cross-cultural skills; English fluent.

Responsibilities

• Establish quality control checkpoints and secure process adherence.
• Support design tools and improvement via NCRs and QNs.
• Develop DFMEA with training and application.
• Identify critical-to-quality deliverables.
• Ensure verification and validation practices are effective.
• Promote audit readiness and internal/external audits.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
