Job summary

ASCO Aerospace Canada Ltd. is seeking an EQ Engineer to perform first article inspections and validate manufacturing routings, control plans, and ATS. The role emphasizes validation of CPs, CCs, and routings, plus customer requirement reviews and plan accuracy.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years in industrial quality, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Office. Travel may be required; languages include Dutch, French and English. The position offers growth within a dynamic Asco group.

Responsibilities

Job description

Asco is now looking for anEQ Engineer(Engineering Quality Engineer) whoperforms full or partial first article inspections (FAIs) to validate process stability and capacity prior to series production, and validate manufacturing routings, operator instructions (ATS) and control plans.

Responsabilities :

1. Carrying out FAI : First Article Inspection

Carry out and validate FAI, DVI, EFAE and DVE files in accordance with approved AQIs and customer documents.

  • Perform product/process FAI on new products.
  • Perform FAI deltas (validation of changes at the engineering definition or process level).

2. Validation of control plans

Perform an assessment to validate the control plan (CP) in accordance with approved APIs and AQIs.

  • Validate the CPs for all manufactured parts, including those involved in machining and assembly processes.
  • Validate the CPs of deltas as part of changes made (at the engineering definition or process level).

3. Validation of routings and Asco Technical Sheets (ATS)

Conduct an assessment to validate the routings in accordance with the approved APIs.

  • Validate routings for all manufactured parts.
  • Validate changes made to routings (change management process).
  • Validate ATS (Asco Technical Sheets) for polishing and assembly (except for special processes outside the scope of EQ).

4. Validation of Asco Control Cards (CC)

Conduct an assessment to validate control cards in accordance with approved APIs and AQIs.

  • Validate CCs for all manufactured parts, including those involved in machining and assembly processes.
  • Validate CCs for deltas as part of changes made (at the configuration or process level).

5. Review of customer requirements

Participate in the Customer Requirement Review to ensure that the project team fully understands and has comprehensively covered the customer’s requirements.

  • Verify that the content of the plans is correct, complete, clear (no room for interpretation) and measurable.
  • Identify any clarification, correction and/or deviation requirements to Customer Quality.
  • Initiate, carry out or organise & analyse 2D/3D comparisons where necessary and monitor the implementation of any necessary corrections.

6. Creation of Control Plans

Create Control Plans to define a comprehensive and efficient inspection process based on customer requirements (plans and specifications) defined in the configuration

  • Define with the technical team which parameters can be controlled by the process in parallel with the definition of the process
  • When not guaranteed by the process, define (in collaboration with the Method Agent for production control cards) when to control (production, Manual QC, CMM, Final QC), how to control (including the definition of the measuring instrument) and the frequency of measurement based on the inspection strategy
  • Define a reliable and economical means of inspecting parts.
  • Keep control plan revisions under control.
  • Obtain validation from an Engineering Quality Engineer from the Engineering Quality & Validation group

7. Validate CMM programs and control tools.

Validate CMM programs and control tools to ensure deliverables comply with requirements.

  • Validate CMM programs in accordance with the criteria defined in the procedures
  • Validate control tools defined in Control Plans and designed by Fixture Design.
  • Initiate and organise, in cooperation with CQE, MSA (GRR) studies for the identified measurement equipment
  • Obtain validation of Control Charts by an Engineering Quality Engineer from the “Engineering Quality & Validation” group

8. PFMEA / SPC

Participate in PFMEA activities in order to proactively prevent and prioritise technical problems

  • Introduce the SPC method and support the project team in the use of the data collected.

9. Company-wide EQ support

Support other sites in your functional area in order to share specific skills within the Asco group.

Profile, expertise and experience

Languages :good knowledge of Dutch, French and English

Skills/experience :

  • 0 to 2 years’ experience
  • Experience in industrial production or product development and design. Experience in a similar quality role is an asset
  • In-depth technical knowledge of the product and process
  • In-depth knowledge of one or more quality systems, attention to safety and excellent analytical and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Team spirit
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Sense of responsibility, respect and enthusiasm within a team
  • Willingness to travel is an asset
