Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Engineering Project Team Leader - PERF/SIM/APP at our facility located at 14009 Old Galena Rd., Bldg F, Mossville, IL 61552.

Job Duties:
  1. Spend up to 50% of time in a team leadership role, with remaining time dedicated to individual contributions and technical expertise.
  2. Manage personal development and continuously learn new business knowledge and skills.
  3. Lead cross-functional global engineering teams to evaluate the structural performance of complex mining, construction, and earthmoving machine systems and components using advanced analysis methods and tools.
  4. Provide technical guidance on product design issues such as material selection, durability, reliability, cost, and quality.
  5. Develop and explore emerging technologies, plan projects, and manage resources.
  6. Participate in pre-test planning, on-machine testing, post-test analysis, validation, and design optimization.
  7. Prepare technical presentations and reports.
  8. Mentor and coach team members.
Requirements:

This position requires either:

  1. A master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace, Production, Civil Engineering, or related field, plus 4 years of relevant experience.
  2. Or a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in the same fields, plus 6 years of relevant experience.

Additionally, candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in:

  1. Leading and managing projects involving analysis, design, and validation of mining, construction, and earthmoving machine structural systems and components.
  2. Performing advanced structural analysis and fatigue evaluation under various loads.
  3. Performing nonlinear joint analysis problems.
  4. Structural response dynamics analysis and correlation.
  5. Digital signal processing using DATK, MATLAB, or equivalent.
  6. Using ABAQUS, NASTRAN, HYPERMESH, CREO, or equivalent software.
Additional Details:

Telecommuting: Up to 40% permitted.

Travel: 10% domestic.

Compensation:

Summary Pay Range: $133,266 – $189,000. Salary may vary based on various factors including experience and performance.
