Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an Engineering Project Team Leader in the Austin area to oversee electrical design delivery and build a team of engineers, designers and modelling staff.

This role combines technical oversight with responsibility for fees, workloads and resources, in close collaboration with construction teams to deliver practical, coordinated designs. The ideal candidate holds a US PE license, has eight years or more of electrical engineering experience, and has led teams,

Qualifications

• US PE licence required.
• Eight+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Experience managing people, budgets and workloads.
• Knowledge of electrical design calculations, system studies and applicable codes.
• Understanding of electrical construction and installation.
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
• Field experience preferred.

Salary: USD140000 - USD190000 per annum

Engineering Team Lead - Electrical Design

Location: Greater Austin, Texas

Compensation: $140-190K

Travel: Up to 25%, plus local site visits

An established electrical construction business is seeking an experienced engineering leader to oversee electrical design delivery and develop a team of engineers, designers and modelling staff.

You'll combine technical oversight with responsibility for engineering fees, workload and resources, working closely with construction teams to deliver practical, coordinated designs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage engineering work plans, design fees and resource allocation.
• Oversee power distribution, lighting, grounding and standby systems.
• Review electrical studies, resolve technical challenges and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Act as Engineer of Record for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, design partners and regulatory authorities.
• Mentor team members and support their development.

What we’re looking for

• A US Professional Engineer (P.E.) licence.
• Strong electrical engineering experience, typically eight years or more.
• Experience managing people, engineering budgets and workloads.
• Knowledge of electrical design calculations, system studies and applicable codes.
• An understanding of electrical construction and installation.
• Relevant degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Field experience is strongly preferred.
