Job summary

Terracon Consultants, Inc. in the United States seeks an experienced project engineer to oversee facilities, environmental, or geotechnical projects.

You will ensure safety, on-time delivery within scope and budget, and maintain strong client and vendor communications. Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and leading safety initiatives, with cross-functional collaboration to secure resources and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology, with at least 5 years' related experience (or 9 years if no degree).
• Valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of a small to medium sized project.
• Work with client or NAM to define project scope, schedule and budget.
• Design, communicate, and implement a project plan for completing the project.
• Leads safety efforts including preparation and compliance with approved safety plan.
• Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
• Identify, develop, and gather resources to complete the project, including schedules, budgets, forecasts, and staffing.
• Partner with other departments or offices to secure specialized resources for the project.
• Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project.
• Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet targets and milestones.
• Coordinate with APR for oversight and reviews at critical junctures.
• Coordinate with accounting for financial management, invoicing and collections.
• Develop understanding of project-related risk and adherence to company policies.
• Lead safety efforts and promote a safe work environment; encourage pre-task planning.
• Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects.
