Join Our Team as an Engineering Project Manager at ARRO Consulting!

This position is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and successful execution of engineering projects from initiation through completion. The Engineering Project Manager oversees project scope, schedules, budgets, client communication, and technical execution while ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with company quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.

The Engineering Project Manager serves as a primary point of contact for clients and collaborates with engineers, designers, field personnel, contractors, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams throughout all phases of project delivery. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects within a consulting engineering environment.

  • Manage engineering projects from proposal development through final completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and project deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary client contact and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and project resources to support successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Prepare project status reports, cost projections, resource forecasts, and project performance metrics.
  • Review engineering plans, specifications, reports, and technical documents for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Coordinate permitting activities and communications with regulatory agencies and municipalities.
  • Lead project meetings with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to support successful outcomes.
  • Support business development efforts through proposal preparation, client presentations, and relationship management activities.
  • Assist with contract review, scope negotiations, and change order management.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality assurance procedures and safety standards.
  • Mentor and support junior engineering and technical staff.
  • Support construction administration activities, field coordination, and project closeout efforts as required.
  • Collaborate with department leadership on operational improvements and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, records, and project files.
  • Any other duties, as necessary, to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of the organization.
Required Skills/Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of progressive engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or required depending on discipline.
  • Prior project management experience within consulting, municipal, utility, infrastructure, or related environments preferred.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, staffing, and client relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering project management principles and practices.
  • Understanding of engineering design processes, construction practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to review and interpret engineering plans, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, project financial management, and resource planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Strong technical writing, presentation, and client relationship management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements – Work Environment
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working at a computer workstation.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, project management, and document review.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to project sites, client meetings, regulatory agency meetings, and company offices.
  • Ability to lift and carry light materials or equipment (typically up to 25 pounds).
  • Required to have close visual acuity to review technical documents, plans, specifications, schedules, and reports.
  • Work environment consists primarily of office-based work with periodic field visits and construction site coordination.
  • Field work may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, uneven terrain, construction activities, and operational facilities.
  • Noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
  • May require occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines, client commitments, and project demands.

Daily Work Location/Hours

The employee will be expected to report to the assigned office location on a regular basis in accordance with the established schedule. This position primarily involves office-based work with opportunities for field visits, client meetings, and hybrid work available upon meeting performance expectations and demonstrating an understanding of ARRO’s processes, as approved by the supervisor.
