Job summary

East Coast Metal Systems, Inc. (a division of Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal) is seeking a Project Engineer to review shop drawings, assist in drawing development, and coordinate with engineers, drafters, project managers, and other project engineers to ensure accurate execution of construction plans.

You will support bids, track panel orders, manage costs, and assist in project closeout, change orders, and site deliveries.

Qualifications

• 2-year AutoCAD degree or equivalent AutoCAD experience.
• Ability to read design drawings.
• Eagerness to grow and learn about the construction and manufacturing industry.
• Eagerness to develop AutoCAD skills.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills; both internal and external.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

• Review shop drawings and submittal packages for accuracy.
• Assist Project Manager with drawing development based on measurements.
• Coordinate with Engineers, Drafters, Project Managers, and other Project Engineers.
• Support Project Manager in execution of contractor bid process.
• Manage project costs for materials and labor.
• Assist in weekly tasks and job meetings during capital projects.
• Assist in the timely preparation and execution of product to construction site.
• Track panel orders and scheduling deliveries in accordance with construction schedule.
• Support the Project Manager with project closeout (i.e. punch lists, final invoicing, etc.).
• Review proposed change orders and their validity.
• Review architecture plans for completeness and compliance with standards.
• Attend meetings, conferences, and/or seminars as directed.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required or as assigned.
