Job summary

Emcore Corporation in Concord, CA seeks an Engineering Program Manager to translate engineering roadmaps into concrete execution plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables. You will own cross‑functional coordination across hardware, software, and systems from concept to production.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will drive multi‑discipline collaboration with Sales, Operations, Finance, and BUMs; supervise staffing, risk mitigation, and program reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of technical program management or engineering experience with hardware/software products.
• Experience building and managing schedules with MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA or Confluence.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Hands-on experience in design, development, integration, or test of electro-mechanical and optical hardware.
• Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and transition to manufacturing.
• Strong documentation and attention to detail; excellent communication with executives.
• Must be a U.S. Person per export control regulations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with VP of Engineering to translate roadmaps into execution plans and milestones.
• Drive cross-functional coordination with BUMs, Sales, Operations, and Finance.
• Support transition from design through prototype, validation, and production.
• Implement productivity improvements to engineering processes, tools, and templates.
• Define integrated program schedules and critical path across concurrent initiatives.
• Assess resource demands and drive staffing plans and cost estimates.
• Identify program risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Maintain program documentation and status reporting for executive reviews.
