Job summary

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) seeks a senior engineering leader to provide direction and technical guidance across program areas in the Division and Districts, ensuring compliance with state and federal policies. You will foster collaboration, set objectives, and oversee engineering projects.

Responsibilities include prioritizing work, resolving complex technical issues, managing staff and budgets, and delivering statewide program oversight and strategic plans aligned with VDOT

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience leading professional engineering staff and projects.
Experience with supervisory principles and staff development.

Establish priorities for the team to support division and VDOT goals.
Manage technical problem resolution and proactive issue escalation.
