Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking an Engineering Program Manager (EPM) to collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to define, instrument, track, and report KPIs for Apple products. You will partner with engineering management and product teams to measure success, implement metrics, and report insights to stakeholders.

You should have a track record in data products and project management, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive multiple complex projects in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in project or program management leading cross-functional software or data teams.
  • Solid understanding of system architecture and release processes for complex software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentation and negotiation.

Responsibilities

  • Define and measure KPIs for Apple products with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with engineering management and product teams to define success metrics.
  • Work with data science to report insights to stakeholders including Marketing and Leadership.

The AIML team is looking for an engineering program manager (EPM) to work with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to define, instrument, track and report key performance indicators for Apple Products. In this role, you will define how to measure new features and report key insights on those products to key stakeholders and executives.

Description

In this role, you will drive cross-functional programs focused on measuring success for different Apple products You will partner with engineering management and product teams to define customer success and key performance indicators, work with engineering teams to implement these metrics and collaborate with data science to report key insights to stakeholders including Marketing and Engineering Leadership. You should bring solid experience in data products and project management, strong communication and leadership skills, and a track record of driving and delivering multiple complex projects simultaneously. You should demonstrate high integrity, high energy, and feel comfortable in a dynamic and constantly changing environment. As an experienced project leader for various complex and at times highly ambiguous technical projects, you will need to build strong collaborative relationships within the organization as well as cross-functionally, and confidently and calmly manage any conflicts and challenges along the way. You will be responsible for successful outcomes and delivery, driving your projects with a keen eye for important details and communicating clearly on status and risks. Minimum Qualifications
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Program Experience: At least 7 years of experience in project or program management, leading cross-functional software engineering or data science teams in large organizations to deliver consumer or enterprise technology products. Candidates should be comfortable structuring new programs and leading multiple work streams independently.
  • Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of system architecture, design trade-offs with thorough understanding of testing, build and release processes for complex software
  • Strong Leadership: Proven ability to lead, influence, and resolve conflicts within large, complex teams. Must demonstrate analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a product mentality
  • Effective Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation, negotiation, and the ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in hands-on software development or data science
  • Excellent collaboration skills, working together with different teams, and fostering trust
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Curiosity and passion for new technologies, and proven ability to quickly understand technical concepts

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,500 and $263,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You’ll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition.
