Job summary

University of Austin (UATX) invites applications for faculty in the Engineering concentration within the Center for Sciences. Appointments available at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels with a Fall 2027 start date.

Part-time appointments may be considered, with compensation commensurate with rank and including benefits and a research stipend. UATX operates on a quarter schedule and emphasizes an entrepreneurial, reform-minded approach to higher education, offering opportunities for

Qualifications

PhD in an engineering discipline. PhD in physics or chemistry will be considered.
Strong teaching ability.
A record of engineering research or advanced work in technology.
Multidisciplinary viewpoint and breadth of interest within the hard sciences.
Ability to mentor students in a variety of engineering-related projects.

Responsibilities

Teach in Engineering concentration courses with an 18 quarter hours annual teaching load.
Supervise a major project of 27 quarter hours and mentor students in projects.
Engage in engineering research or advanced work aligned with the Center for Sciences.
Contribute to building and sustaining UATX as a creative, less bureaucratic institution.
